IQ Style Reasoning Puzzles
An IQ style puzzle set built from shapes, positions and patterns.
About this challenge
A free set of IQ style pattern puzzles. Each puzzle hides a rule in a grid of shapes, and you pick the piece that completes it. You get a raw count of puzzles solved, not an IQ number, because these puzzles are not a standardized IQ assessment.
Choose Entry, Regular or Hard first.
What it measures
How many visual pattern puzzles you solve within the time limit. Each item hides a rule in a row or grid of shapes; you choose the image that completes it.
How the score works
One point per correct puzzle. Wrong or skipped puzzles score zero, with no negative marking. Answered, correct and total are reported separately. There is no conversion to an IQ number.
Say you answer 10 of the 12 Entry puzzles before the time limit and get 8 right. Your score is 8 / 12. The two you skipped count as zero, with no penalty, and the result shows answered (10), correct (8) and total (12) separately.
Entry, Regular and Hard
- Entry
- The original 12 starter puzzles with single rules, 10 minute limit.
- Regular
- 20 puzzles that use one or two rules at once (for example a shape change plus a position change), with closer look-alike answers. 15 minute limit.
- Hard
- 20 puzzles with two or three rules, at least one linked to another (for example the fill depends on the shape), so you must track every change to find the single correct piece. 15 minute limit.
Each level has its own fixed set of items and its own score, so results are only compared within the same level. How levels are designed

Limits
This is a nonverbal reasoning challenge, not a standardized IQ assessment. Its score does not establish your intelligence or suitability for work or school.
For education, entertainment and general self-exploration only. These activities are not medical or psychological assessments and do not diagnose, prevent or treat any condition. Results are estimates of performance on these tasks and can be affected by practice, attention, language, your device and your surroundings. If you have concerns about your thinking, vision or hearing, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
Questions
Is this a real IQ test?
No. It uses the same kind of pattern puzzle as some IQ tests, but it is not standardized or normed, so it cannot give you an IQ number. Treat the score as a count of puzzles solved.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Every level and its basic score are free without an account. Signing in only saves your results across devices.
Why does my score change when I retake it?
Familiarity with the puzzle style, attention and fatigue all affect your score. Higher scores on a retake show practice with this task, not a change in intelligence.
